The Brazilian National Meeting of Mineral Treatment and Extractive Metallurgy (ENTMME) reach its 25th edition and forty years of realization in 2013, being the most important meeting in mineral treatment and extractive metallurgy in Brazil. Together with the XXV ENTMME will happen the 8th edition of the Meeting of the Southern Hemisphere on Mineral Technology. The XXV ENTMME and VIII MSHMT are both directed to researchers, professionals, managers, professors and students from mining, metallurgy, oil, environment and hydric resources sector. The meeting will be composed by a debate forum and aim, at each edition, enhance e qualify its activities, seeking to present in a privileged way a bigger divulgation of the mining and metallurgical activities, as well as propitiate the professional strengthening and contacts diffusion. It is expected the participation of researchers from entire southern hemisphere, in special Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China and Japan.

The choice of the Goiania as host city of the XXV ENTMME / VIII MSHMT was decided by election in the closure section of the XXIV ENTMME (realized in Salvador/BA, 2011) and was due to the fact that Goias state is a big mineral producer, showing a huge variety of minerals and industrial rocks, such as nickel (highlight to the cities of Niquelândia, Barro Alto and Americano do Brasil), manganese (Fazenda Nova, Alto Horizonte and Faina), niobium (Catalão), copper (Alto Horizonte, Catalão and Americano do Brasil), cobalt (Niquelândia, Barro Alto and Americano do Brasil), phosphate rock (Catalão), asbestos (Minaçu), limestone, emerald, cyanide and vermiculite. It is also remarkable the production of mineral water of the state. The major counties are Niquelândia, Barro Alto and Catalão, where the Federal University of Goias maintains the mining engineering graduation course.

The XXV ENTMME/VIII MSHMT realization will be an event of great importance to Brazilian mineral sector, to the Federal University of Goias, to Catalão Campus and to Mining Engineering graduation course due to the which projection they will achieve in the national and international mineral sector.

The meeting will be held in Goiania in the Culture and Events Centre Prof. Ricardo Freua Bufáiçal, localized in the Campus II (Samambaia) of the Federal University of Goias (Av. Samambaia, Chácaras de Recreio Samambaia, Goiânia/GO, 74691-300). The Centre occupies an 8.700 square meters area and is intended to conventions, expositions and conferences, divide in large and modern spaces:

  • Four rooms with ninety sits each (approximately one hundred square meters), with air condition system, projection screen, data show, microphones and sound desk;
  • One auditorium capable of accommodate four thousand persons (approximately three thousand square meters) with five data shows, three projection screens, microphones and sound desk;
  • Posters area with posters stands for about fifty posters;
  • Exhibition area for partner companies of the meeting;
  • Four toilets (two male and two female);
  • Electric power generator to cover any supply problems;
  • Simultaneous translation of all oral presentation: English-Portuguese and Portuguese-English;
  • Parking lot with 1.450 spots.
